CariFree Pro Gel 5000 is a prescription-strength fluoride toothpaste designed to help maintain healthy teeth and gums. The gel is formulated with elevated pH chemistry that helps neutralize acidity in the mouth — a benefit for patients with high cavity risk, acid erosion, or dry mouth, where the oral environment tends to be more acidic.
The elevated pH helps create an oral environment less hospitable to cavity-causing bacteria. In addition to fluoride, ProGel 5000 contains nano-hydroxyapatite (a building block of enamel), xylitol (a natural sweetener that has been shown to help reduce cavity risk), and a soothing/moistening formulation that is gentle on dry-mouth tissues.
ProGel 5000 is easy to use and applied with a toothbrush. It is available in Mint and Citrus — Citrus is especially appreciated by dry-mouth patients who can't tolerate mint.
For best results, Use once daily as directed by your dentist (twice daily may be appropriate per Dr. Saeidi) a pea-sized amount and do not eat, drink, or rinse for 30 minutes afterward so the fluoride is absorbed onto tooth surfaces.

How is Pro Gel 5000 different from Clinpro 5000?
Both are 5000 ppm sodium fluoride. Practical differences:
- Flavors: ProGel comes in Mint and Citrus (Citrus is great for dry-mouth patients who can't tolerate mint). Clinpro comes in Mint and Bubble Gum.
- Texture: ProGel is more gel-like; Clinpro has a regular OTC-toothpaste texture.
- Chemistry: ProGel adds elevated pH and nano-hydroxyapatite for additional remineralization support; Clinpro's distinctive ingredient is functionalized tri-calcium phosphate (fTCP).
Pick Clinpro for a no-frills prescription-strength fluoride; pick ProGel for the elevated-pH chemistry, gel texture, or citrus option.
